The woman killed in a chain reaction crash Wednesday morning in Clinton has been identified as 32-year-old Shameka Brown, a mother of two.

"I just want the world to know that we lost somebody special," said the victim's husband, Maurice Brown.

The couple was about to celebrate 10 years of marriage and have an eight-year-old son and five-year-old daughter.

"That's the worst thing I've had to do is tell my kids that their mom is gone. Ever," said Maurice.

The collision happened around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Surratts Road.

Investigators believe a tractor-trailer ran a red light while heading southbound on Branch Avenue triggering a chain reaction crash involving a Prince George's County school bus and five other vehicles. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, but several others were.

Family says Shameka was driving to work at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Shameka's sister tells FOX 5 she passed by the crash scene unaware that her sister was involved.

Michael Young, Shameka's brother, says family was the center of his older sister's world.

"She was the glue to this family that really held everything together," said Young. "Any time you needed anything, you could always call on her. She'll get out of her bed, she'll give you her last just to be there for you."

Police say the investigation into the crash could take weeks or even months.

Based on video of the crash and the lack of skid marks at the scene, family wonders if the tractor trailer's brakes may have failed.

Shameka's sister has created a GoFundMe page to support Shameka's two children.
