Motorist killed after vehicle strikes tractor trailer in Howard County

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - A motorist was killed after their vehicle struck a tractor trailer early Monday morning in Howard County.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on eastbound Route 100 near the Snowden River Parkway. Emergency crews believe the vehicle's driver drove into and under the truck. Two other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Traffic from the eastbound lanes was diverted onto the Snowden River Parkway while emergency crews were on the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
