Mother Outraged After Daughters Photos Hijacked By Internet Trolls

An Alabama mother is asking how people on the internet could possibly be so mean after photos of her sixteen month old daughter were hijacked by internet trolls and ended up the face of cruel memes.

According to a story on WAFF's webpage, Ashton Hamner did what many parents on Facebook do, she simply uploaded some photos of her young daughter, Lennox, onto her page. Only later did she discover that some people online had stolen those photos and made cruel memes featuring her daughter.

Many made light of the fact that her baby girl didn't have much hair and referred to her as a cancer patient. Others made fun of her expressions and others referred to killing the toddler. The scary part, her daughter Lennox is a perfectly healthy and normal toddler.

Hamner said she reported the photos right away to Facebook and they took them down. A legal analyst claimed what the trolls did was in fact against the law because they altered her photos and stole her property. The mother is now making sure this doesn't happen again.

"I went back and changed all my settings and now no one can access my photos unless they're on my friends group. Just be really careful about what you share," Hamner said.
