Montgomery County officer crashes cruiser into parked cars in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, Md. - Montgomery County police say they are investigating an early morning crash -- involving one of their own officers.

Officials say at around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning, a Montgomery County officer in a cruiser crashed to several parked cars near an apartment building on Second Avenue and Fenwick Street in Silver Spring.

The officer was reportedly taken to an area hospital but was later released. Police have not yet released the person's name.

Montgomery County police say the incident is currently under investigation.
