BOYDS, Md. - Montgomery County fire officials are investigating after a fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a home in Boyds.
Officials say they were called to a home at 21000 block of Clarksburg Road near Sierra Court at around 3:30 a.m.
Investigators say they believe there was a delay in the alarm because the fire was in its advance stages upon the fire department arrival.
When firefighters arrived there was heavy fire coming from the home.
Montgomery County fire says the home is a single story house that is located down a long dirt driveway in an area that was not close to a fire hydrant.
Two people inside the home made it out safely, they say.
Fire officials say the fire is now under control, but crews are using water tankers to put out any hot spots. However, due to cold temperatures there are now icy conditions along area roads due to water to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigations, officials say.
