Residents in a northern Virginia neighborhood have plenty to say about their trash pick up going from twice a week to once a week.
The change arrived in Montclair about three weeks ago - and residents say the change was abrupt.
Garbage pickup is now on Thursday - instead of twice a week - and residents say they were given notice via email about three weeks ago and the change has been in place for about two weeks.
FOX 5 is still waiting to hear back from American Disposal Services about the change.
On its website, American Disposal says the change to the countywide pickup schedule through June 29 is due to a staffing shortage.
In Montclair, however, residents say they've been notified that the change is long-term.
At least one resident indicated that the smell is palpable ever since the change in pickup schedule.
American Disposal urges residents to place trash out the night before pickup.
