Mega Millions $458-million jackpot is 4th largest in history
TAMPA (FOX 13) - The jackpot for Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing will be for a $458-million jackpot.
It's the fourth largest jackpot in its history, according to the Mega Millions website. The winner has the option to get paid in installments or take the lump sum $274.5 million. The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has been steadily growing and rolling over since January when a Tampa Bay area resident won the prize.
Shane Missler from Port Richey won the $450-million jackpot, and opted for the $282-million lump sum payment. Since becoming a millionaire, Missler has kept up his social media accounts but moved out of the Tampa Bay Area.
According to Mega USA, the numbers most commonly drawn for the Mega Millions lottery include: 17, 42, 01, 28, and 58. The most commonly-drawn Mega Ball number is 22.
The deadline to buy your ticket for Tuesday night's drawing is 9:59 p.m. Tickets are $2 each.
