HYATTSVILLE, Md. - Federal and local authorities are searching for a convicted sex offender and Maryland state hospital patient who has gone missing.
Police say James Alexander Norris Jr. walked off during a court-ordered home visit near Landover Hills on Thursday. He was last seen at around 2 p.m. in the 4000 block of Warner Avenue.
Norris is described as 5'7" and 170 pounds and he was last wearing a black track jacket with a white stripe down the sleeves, blue jeans and New Balance sneakers.
A retake warrant has been issued for the 49-year-old.
Anyone with information about Norris is asked to call 911 immediately.
