Service on MARC Brunswick Line is suspended Wednesday, MTA officials say, as train tracks were damaged from heavy rain and flooding in Frederick and western Maryland Tuesday night.

This comes as a train from DC heading to West Virginia were stuck in Frederick for hours Tuesday night, as heavy rain caused flooding on the tracks. According to officials, 85 passengers were stranded during the ordeal.

The severe weather caused damage to train tracks between Brunswick and Germantown and between Monocacy and Point of Rocks on the Frederick Branch, according to authorities.

MTA says MARC train tickets will be honored on DC Metro. Riders are asked to show their MARC ticket to the Metrorail Station Manager, and they will permit riders o enter through the gate next to the information kiosk.

MTA says they expect full Brunswick Line service to be restored for Thursday, May 17.
