Man, woman killed in deadly accident in Potomac

POTOMAC, Md - Police say a man and a woman were killed in a single vehicle accident in Montgomery County. The accident was reported in Potomac, Maryland around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree near Democracy Boulevard at Gainsborough Road. Police say the crash brought down electric lines and caused the vehicle to catch fire.

The driver, 30-year-old Kent Matthew Brooks and the passenger, 33-year-old Kathleen Michelle French, both died on the scene.

Democracy Boulevard was closed between Newbridge Drive and Gainsborough Road for several hours. It reopened to traffic around 7 a.m.
