Man shot near Petworth playground Saturday afternoon

WASHINGTON - A man is in the hospital after a shooting Saturday afternoon near a Petworth playground.
Police say it happened around 12:38 p.m. on 8th Street near Taylor Street Northwest, near the Petworth Recreation Center.
Police say the man was the only victim in the shooting. No children were involved. They did not have immediate information on the suspect or what led to the shooting.
