Man poses as Walmart employee, steals cash from register

Fairfax County police are searching for a man who impersonated a Walmart employee and stole cash from a register.

Police say the suspect entered a Walmart store in the Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fairfax at around 4 p.m. on Dec. 15 wearing an employee vest.

Inside the store, the man took over control of a cash register after telling a cashier on duty that he was needed in the office. The suspect proceeded to check out a customer and then stole cash from the register.

Police say he then left the store and fled in a silver Honda.

The suspect may have also stolen from Walmart stores in Maryland and Farmville, Virginia, according to police.

The suspect is described as black male, 5'9" to 6'1" tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds, and was wearing a white t-shirt and a Walmart employee vest.
