WASHINGTON - D.C. police say a man has died after being shot in Southeast D.C. Tuesday afternoon.
Police say they received a call at around 3:36 p.m. for a shooting that occurred in the 5000 block of Benning Road.
Officers located the victim unconscious at the scene and he was transported to the hospital.
Benning Road at H Street was shut down in both directions due to the police investigation. Homicide detectives were requested to the scene.
Police say they are looking for a black male with a medium complexion. He is about 5'7" to 5'8" tall and was last seen wearing a long-sleeved green and gray shirt with dark pants. They say he was armed with a gun.
