Man dead after Sterling townhouse fire

The scene of a fatal fire early Sunday on Giles Place in Sterling, Va.

A man is dead and another adult is in the hospital following a townhouse fire early Sunday in Sterling.

Officials say it started around 3 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Giles Place.

First responders found smoke coming from the two-story home, and one adult suffering from burns outside. That person is now recovering at a hospital. 

They then found a man inside the home. He later died at a hospital after receiving advanced life support care at the scene

Another resident refused treatment. 

Firefighters say they extinguished the blaze quickly, and it did not spread to neighboring town homes. 

Officials say they're investigating the cause of the fire.
