WASHINGTON - A judge has ordered a man accused of murdering 22-year-old D.C. man without bond.
Marty McMillan went missing almost a year ago after he allegedly made a date with a woman on the dating website PlentyOfFish. His body was found in a shallow grave several months later in October along Suitland Parkway in Prince George's County.
John McRae was charged with second-degree murder while armed and made his first appearance in court Wednesday afternoon as new court documents are revealing new details about the case.
According to the documents, McMillan met a woman online who was already involved in a relationship with McRae. It appears the woman described as Witness 3 invited McMillan over to the home she shared with McRae and another person described as Witness 5.
Witness 3 said she and McMillan were intimate when McRae came home early from work. McMillan went into a closet off of the bedroom when McRae entered the room. Then the woman heard gunfire.
Somehow McMillan's body was removed from the apartment. Later, when police searched the apartment, they found bullet holes in the walls along with signs that a crime was committed.
We also learned the medical examiner said McMillan was shot several times in the torso and he was wrapped in a floral comforter and electrical cord. Authorities appear to have evidence that links the comforter to pictures with McRae in it along with forensic evidence connected to the weapon and shell casings.
