COLUMBIA, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A Columbia man is behind bars after police say he shot two men Monday night during a drug deal gone bad.
According to the Howard County Police, officers responded to the 9500 block of Sea Shadow after receiving reports of shots fired in the area. There, they discovered D’Marni Ware, 19, and Jaiden Marquise Pender, 18, in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds,
Both Ware and Pender were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center following the shooting.
Ware remains in critical condition. Pender was treated and released on Tuesday.
A preliminary investigation reveals Ware and Pender possibly met with Tyquan Leondre Carter, 20, to complete a drug deal. Police believe an altercation ensued prior to the shooting.
Carter was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Baltimore.
He has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, assault and related charges.
