Man charged for Giant Food store stabbing in DC
WASHINGTON - A 28-year-old man has been charged after a stabbing inside a Giant Food store in Northwest D.C. last week.
D.C. police say Frederick Irby is facing a charge of assault with intent to kill.
The stabbing happened at around 5:10 p.m. Thursday inside the grocery store located in the 4300 block of Connecticut Avenue. Officers found the male adult victim with several stab wounds and he was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Last Thursday, a store employee told FOX 5 that two workers got into a fight in the produce section inside the Van Ness store and a knife that is used to cut up watermelon was used by the suspect in the stabbing.
