NANJEMOY, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A man who police say broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and stabbed her and her mother Wednesday morning has turned himself in to authorities.
Police say 24-year-old Deon Johnson broke into the home in the 2700 block of Port Tobacco Road in the Nanjemoy area at around 5:45 a.m.
Officers believe Johnson stabbed his ex-girlfriend and her mother before fleeing the area. Both women survived the attack, police say.
The ex-girlfriend has serious, non-life-threatening injuries while the mother is said to have serious injuries.
Police used their helicopter, drones and police K9 units to search the heavily wooded area surrounding the home for Johnson Wednesday.
Investigators say closed roads in the area and sent an alert to parents of students at Mt. Hope and Nanjemoy Elementary Schools during the search.
