GREAT FALLS, Md. - A kayaker was rescued Saturday afternoon after being separated from their boat on the Potomac River near Great Falls.
Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service Pete Piringer tweeted just after noon that a water rescue was underway for a kayaker in distress.
He then said swift water rescue boats had been deployed and would be assisted by a U.S. Park Police helicopter.
The kayak was located before the distressed boater, who was found soon after on shore.
The kayaker is being evaluated for EMS for injuries.
