Karen Huger enters recovery program after DUI, misses ‘RHOP’ reunion: report
What we know
"Real Housewives of Potomac" star Karen Huger has checked into a private recovery program, her team revealed Thursday.
Huger’s absence from the Season 9 reunion taping raised questions, but her manager, Ryan Tresdale, addressed the situation in a statement shared with Bravo’s "The Daily Dish."
"Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today," Tresdale said. "She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth."
When was Karen Huger's DUI crash?
The decision comes weeks after Huger, 61, was found guilty on five charges — including driving under the influence — stemming from a March 2024 car crash in Potomac, Maryland.
The crash, which involved Huger’s Maserati striking a pole, drew widespread attention and culminated in a trial where prosecutors presented damning body camera footage and witness testimony suggesting intoxication.
Huger’s lawyer, A. Scott Bolden, previously stated that they intend to appeal the verdict.
"Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision," Bolden said in a December statement to People.
When will Karen Huger be sentenced?
Huger could face up to two years in prison and is set to be sentenced on January 29.
Fans of "The Real Housewives of Potomac" will have to wait until October 6 to see how the season unfolds.
