Jose Andres' World Central Kitchen opening Resource Center for federal workers on furlough

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - World Central Kitchen, run by celebrity Chef Jose Andres, announced on Monday that the non-profit would be running a Resource Center beginning Tuesday to further help federal workers impacted by the shutdown.

"The financial pressure of the shutdown on furloughed feds extends far beyond food, so we teamed up with a group of partners to launch the #ChefsForFeds Resource Center," said World Central Kitchen.

The Resource Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day starting Jan. 22 - next door to their kitchen and cafe where they continue to provide meals for government employess during the shutdown.

World Central Kitchen says the Resource Center will provide support, groceries, as well as diapers and pet food to employees on furlough.

Pepco, Verizon, DC Diaper Bank, Metro DC Food Bank, as well as Martha's Table and AARP are all teaming up with Andres and World Central Kitchen for the effort.
