WASHINGTON - Celebrity chef Jose Andres is up for a Nobel Peace Prize, according to reports.
The Washington Post is reporting that Maryland Congressman John Delaney confirmed he'd nominated the celebrated chef after he quarterbacked small non-profit group to help feed people in Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
Delaney told the Post that nominated Andres for the 2019 award.
The Nobel committee does not make its nominees public, and it discouraged nominators from making public statements.
Delaney has already announced that he will run for president in 2020.
