Jimmy Carter funeral forecast: Frigid temps in the 20s as former president honored in DC

Mourners paying their last respects to former President Jimmy Carter will do so in frigid temperatures on Thursday.

High temperatures in Washington, D.C. on Thursday are not expected to get out of the 20s, says FOX 5’s Tucker Barnes.

Gusty winds will make it feel even colder. "Windchill for much of the day will be in the teens, and perhaps even single digits for parts of the afternoon, with winds occasionally blustering out of the north and west at about 30 to 35 miles an hour," Barnes said.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s Friday before another threat of snow arrives Friday night into Saturday morning.
