‘Jackie Robinson of the NHL' to drop the puck at the Caps' game
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - The Washington Capital are celebrating Black History Month tonight with the help of the "Jackie Robinson of the NHL."
Willie O'Ree helped break the ice for black players 61 years ago when he joined the Boston Bruins as the National Hockey League's first African-American player.
On Tuesday night, O'Ree will participate in the ceremonial puck drop when the Capitals take on the Ottawa Senators.
