Investigation after man found dead on street in downtown DC

Police are conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead Wednesday morning outside in downtown D.C.

Officers say the incident was reported around 8:30 a.m. near 6th Street and Constitution Avenue across from the National Gallery of Art and near the Federal Trade Commission building.

Officials say they found the man in the street and transported them to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have not ruled the manner of death but say the person was not shot or stabbed.

The investigation is continuing at this time.
