CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Tragedy struck the University of Virginia Sunday night as students learned of a mass shooting on campus.
Three football players are dead, and an ex-player is in police custody.
It was an emotional day Monday for the UVA community. Students mourned the loss of three football players – Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler, and D'Sean Perry – who were shot and killed on a bus after a class field trip. The shooting was followed by a 12-hour lockdown and manhunt.
The suspect, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., was taken into custody around 11 a.m. near Richmond.
