FOX 5 DC Cares is extremely proud to partner with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and IHOP for the celebration of National Pancake Day!

On National Pancake Day, IHOP restaurants nationwide invite diners to enjoy a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes with the hope that they'll make a donation to benefit LLS.

This year, D.C. area IHOP restaurants are raising money in honor of Lucy, a brave 5-year-old who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) at just eight months old. Lucy fought hard and is now living life to the fullest.

FOX 5's Mike Thomas spoke with Lucy and with Eric Sauer, General Manager at a Rockville IHOP who told him that this year's goal is to top $650,000 locally and $5 million nationally. He said most IHOP's in the D.C. area will be open until 10 p.m. on Tuesday which gives everyone plenty of time to get out and donate!
