An officer with Immigration and Customs Enforcement shot and killed a fugitive in Prince William County on Friday, according to officials.

Authorities said 37-year-old Mario Bass was wanted by Prince William County police on 11 active warrants, most recently in connection to a domestic-related abduction in Woodbridge that was reported to officials on Feb. 15.

Investigators said they received a tip that Bass was staying at a Days Inn in Dumfries. When the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task attempted to make contact with Bass at the Days Inn, they said he broke through an upper floor window and tried to flee the scene before running into a member of the task force at the rear of the hotel.

During a physical altercation, authorities said the suspect was shot in the upper body by an ICE officer who was part of the task force.

Officials said the Prince William County Police Department was investigating the shooting.
