A House Divided: Commanders husband, Eagles wife root for their teams in NFC Championship

A House Divided

Fans of the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles are rooting for their teams this weekend. But one family is trying to figure out how to cheer for both teams under one roof!

The backstory:

Derek, Kenya, and their son Tyler live in the Washington, D.C. region.

Derek is a diehard Commanders fan while Kenya and Tyler pull for the Eagles.

"My family's from New Jersey and we relocated down here," Kenya told FOX 5 on a bus up to Philadelphia on Sunday to watch the big game. "I happened to fall in love with a guy from Virginia, and the rest is history!"

The other side:

On the bus, Derek sported Commanders gear while his wife and son were decked out in Eagles gear.

"I'll probably be in my man-cave. If we win, they're not going to come anywhere near it. But if we lose, they're going to try and invade my man cave," Derek said.

The Eagles are 14-1 since October — and that includes two straight home postseason victories. The Washington Commanders are the one behind the 1 in 14-1, a thrilling comeback home win against the Eagles in December.
