Holiday heroes rappel down Virginia children’s hospital to surprise young patients at windows

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. - Santa Claus, Olaf, Anna, and Elsa dropped in on the young patients at Inova Children’s Hospital on Friday—literally!

The holiday characters, played by members of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, kicked off the season by rappelling down the side of the building, stopping to wave at the children through the windows.

The department’s holiday heroes spent several hours rappelling.

They also visited the young patients inside.
