Fairfax County police are investigating a security breach at Oakton High School in Vienna. Investigators are trying to figure out who is behind a scheme to change student grades and take over teacher accounts.

According to a search warrant filed by police, investigators were contacted about a series of emails that were sent out, which led to the security breaches.

The emails were sent from the Oakton High School Honor Council's Gmail account. The emails appeared to contain updates on activities and events. But when recipients clicked on the email, a software that tracks keystrokes was installed onto the user's computer. Shortly afterwards, student passwords where changed, grade changes were requested and a teacher's account was logged into.

Fairfax County Public Schools said in a statement:

"FCPS discovered the possible unauthorized access of student records and referred our findings to law enforcement. Since this is an active investigation, we're not providing any additional comment at this time."

Fairfax County Public Schools' IT department was able to track down an IP address. Police say they are investigating the hacking, but no arrests have been made.
