D.C. police say two thieves forced entry into the Gucci store at 10th and Eye streets in Northwest earlier this week and made off with a “large amount of merchandise”.

A police report says the two unidentified individuals got out of a Black Jeep Cherokee around  4:30 Tuesday morning and according to two witnesses broke open the front door and took as many as fifty items. You can still see the damage to the front door.

Witnesses say the two robbers then got back into the Jeep with heavily tinted windows and sped south on 10th St. It’s unclear how long the thieves were inside the store.

Gucci handbags are very expensive. A check of online prices shows they can sell for thousands of dollars.
