OXON HILL, Md. - A Prince George's County police officer helped remove a snake from an Oxon Hill home, and it was captured on camera.
Troy Fleet called police Sunday night after discovering the snake on the hallway floor of his mother's apartment.
"It kind of freaked me out! And I didn't know what to do, so immediately I called police," Fleet said.
Prince George's County police said the job was really for animal control, but Officer Logan Peed, who has been with the department for three years, showed up and took matters into his own hands.
"Next thing you know, he came in there with jokes. Asking me, 'Are y'all scared of snakes? You don't have pet snakes or nothing like that?' I'm like, 'No, we don't mess with snakes!'" said Fleet.
As the officer removed the snake, Fleet could be heard on the video repeatedly thanking the officer and saying, "I've got to FOX 5 this!"
"I think a lot of cops be getting a bad rap, and this cop you know took his time out to come get a snake from out of our residence. Basically just shows that all cops ain't bad," Fleet said.
Via Twitter, Prince George's County police said, "Proves there is no such thing as a routine call. Glad we could help!"
