Earlier this season, FOX 5 DC asked local businesses to set up donation bins and help us collect diapers and wipes for needy families in the Washington, D.C. area.

Today -- we can report that all of you came through! The bins that were set up were filled with much-needed supplies.

FOX 5 Diaper Drive: Here's how to help the Greater DC Diaper Bank

Friday is drop off day - the day we get all of those donations together and send them to the Greater DC Diaper Bank.

FOX 5 and Easterns Automotive Group also teamed up to help Horton's Kids and the Greater DC Diaper Bank to continue to Pay It Forward. Joel Bassam from Easterns Automotive Group presented Horton's Kids with a check for $1,5000 and dropped off an SUV full of diapers!

Thank you all for all of the help! Your hard work paid off!

Here are some quick facts about families with babies living in poverty:

- Some report leaving their babies in dirty diapers to help what they have last.

- Diapers cost more in low-income neighborhoods because in most cases there aren't big box stores where you can buy in bulk.

- Babies living in poverty have higher incidences of diaper rash and skin ailments and this could be linked to them being left in soiled diapers.
