FAIRFAX, Va. - Exclusive video shot by FOX 5 shows former Fairfax County Police Officer Adam Torres being released from jail. His release happened Wednesday morning.
Last week, Torres was sentenced to a year behind bars for the 2013 shooting death of John Geer.
He pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter earlier this year for shooting 46-year-old John Geer while he stood in the doorway of his Springfield home during a standoff three years ago.
Geer was unarmed when he was shot by Torres, who said he saw Geer's hands moving toward his waist. Other officers at the scene disputed that claim.
Torres had already been locked up for more than 10 months at sentencing. The judge gave him credit for time served.
