ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - In addition to dealing with a variety of storm related incidents due to Hurricane Hermine, a lifeguard encountered a unique incident in St. John's County located in Saint Augustine, Florida.
According to a Facebook post on the St. Johns County Fire Rescue page, a SJCFR Marine Rescue lifeguards helped rescue a deer Thursday from the Atlantic Ocean.
The deer entered the water and began struggling in the water and was unable to return to shore. Concerned for the safety of the animal, lifeguards entered the water with a rescue board and helped guide the deer back to shore.
Once on the beach, crews said the deer ran off into the dune line without any concerns.
