Flight from BWI diverted to Dulles after odor in the cabin; 7 passengers transported for evaluation

An odor in the cabin of a flight leaving BWI Airport prompted an emergency landing at Dulles International, Friday.

Officials say a Boeing 737 was diverted after takeoff from Baltimore-Washington Airport and was en route to San Francisco International Airport when the incident was reported. The plane landed on Runway 19C at Dulles around 9 a.m. without incident.

Seven passengers were transported to local hospitals for evaluation. A number of passengers were evaluated on-sight. Officials say there is no impact to airport operations.
