WASHINGTON - Nearly a dozen residents of a Southeast D.C. apartment complex, including an infant, were rescued after a fire that was fueled by the heavy winds trapped them inside.
The fire was reported just before 7 a.m. in the 1200 block Maple View Place.
Firefighters used ladders to rescue the residents from the 3-story complex. The Red Cross was requested as an undetermined number of residents were displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
