ATLANTA - Two firefighters were injured while responding to warehouse fire in southwest Atlanta on Thursday.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Lee Street near Van Buren Street in southwest Atlanta.
Fire officials said the two injured firefighters were riding in an SUV when a fire engine collided with them were injured. The accident caused the fire engine to burst into flames injuring the four firefighters inside the cab. All six were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene and found the cab of the engine completely gutted by the fire.
Firefighters were responding to a 2-alarm fire at warehouse in the 1900 block of Murphy Avenue at the time of the fire. No word on the cause of that fire.
The names of the firefighters in the SUV were not immediately available, but five have been released and one remains with minor injuries just for observation.
Authorities have not said what cause the accident as the entire incident is still under investigation
