2 dead, 1 child hospitalized after Prince George's County house fire

The remnants of a chimney, piles of charred wood, and ash are all that remain after a two-alarm fire destroyed a home in Prince George’s County leaving two people dead and one child injured.

FOX 5’s Melanie Alnwick says that when firefighters arrived the house was already fully involved and the roof had already started to collapse on itself. Alnwick says water tankers were necessary to fight the flames as the home is in a rural area not near any hydrants.

SkyFox was over the scene and captured smoke billowing from the home and the large emergency response on the ground.

Alnwick says investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze. The names of those killed have not been released.
