FBI warns against using public phone charging stations

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a warning against using free charging stations in airports, hotels or shopping centers.

"Bad actors have figured out ways to use public USB ports to introduce malware and monitoring software onto devices," read a tweet from the FBI's Field Office in Denver.

Instead FBI officials say to carry your own charger and USB cord and use an electrical outlet.
