Families displaced from 26 homes, after fire spreads through Prince George's County neighborhood
LANHAM, Md. - Fire officials say people from 26 homes have been displaced after a blazing three-alarm fire spread through a residential neighborhood in Prince George's County.
Prince George's County fire says several under-construction townhouses caught fire at the 10100 Block of Dorsey Lane in Glenn Dale Crossing in Lanham, Maryland.
The fire was knocked down after crews battled the fire for several hours Tuesday afternoon.
Mark Brady with Prince George's County Fire says the fire appears to have started in a four-story condo building under construction that spread to a second row of under construction townhomes.
Prince George's County fire says aside from the 26 occupied homes, two buildings under construction were destroyed. Fire investigators say the estimated fire loss is $8.9 million.
They say there were no reports of injuries and the cause remains under investigation.
