Explosion inside Denver nursing home displaces nearly 90 residents, multiple people hospitalized

An apparent explosion inside a nursing home in Denver, Colorado, has displaced nearly 90 people, according to the Denver Fire Department. 

What happened?

Earlier on Wednesday, construction crews were working at a nursing home when a power line was accidentally struck. This lead to an explosion inside the Eastern Star Masonic Retirement Campus, according to fire officials.

Approximately 87 people have been displaced, according to the fire department, and will be transported to another location. 

Eight people were taken to the hospital and another two were evaluated and cleared at the scene.

The severity of injuries were not revealed immediately.
