ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - A 29-year-old Ellicott City woman has been arrested for stealing four bottles of liquor from a restaurant damaged during the historic flooding last Saturday.
Howard County police said Madeline Eve Scott is accused of the liquor theft that occurred at Portalli's restaurant located on Main Street one day after the rushing water ravaged the first floor of the business.
Charges were filed after the restaurant's owner reported to police that he saw the suspect as she was walking out of the restaurant carrying the liquor bottles. The owner said she threw one of the bottles at him when he confronted her.
Scott is facing second-degree assault, fourth-degree burglary and theft charges.
