Double stabbing leaves 1 dead in Alexandria; suspect in custody
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Police say a suspect is in custody after a woman was killed and a man was injured in an early morning stabbing In Alexandria. The stabbings happened on the 900 block of N. Henry Street around 1:30 a.m.
A female victim, 30-year-old Dasheria Barksdale, was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died of her injuries. A 27-year-old man was also stabbed suffered life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.
The suspect, a 23-year-old Alexandria resident, was hospitalized in critical condition with self-inflicted injuries.

This is the fourth homicide in Alexandria this year.
