Double shooting in Georgetown leaves 1 dead

D.C. Police are investigating a homicide in Georgetown.

Officials responded to a fatal double shooting in the 3500 block of Water Street in northwest D.C. at around 2:50 a.m. early Saturday morning.

Two adult males were shot. One of the men died on scene and the other man was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life threatening, according to police.

Officials named the deceased victim as 19-year-old Kennedy Javier Amaya-Olivares of Severn, Maryland.

D.C. Police are looking for a gray Nissan bearing MD tag 7BB8558.

Anyone with information is asked to call D.C. Police at 202-727-9099 for a reward of up to $25,000.
