Diesel fuel spill on roadway causes closure of outer loop of Beltway in Md.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. - The outer loop of the Beltway in Prince George's County was shut down Tuesday after approximately 700 gallons of diesel fuel spilled out onto the roadway, fire officials said.
Maryland State Police said at around 4 p.m. Tuesday, a tractor trailer, dump truck and two other vehicles were involved in an accident on the Beltway near Branch Avenue that caused the gas tanks on the tractor trailer to leak. Prince George's County Fire and EMS, the College Park Fire Department along with the Maryland Department of the Environment responded to the scene to help clean up the spill.
No one was injured, police said.
At 9:15 p.m., authorities said three lanes have reopened.
