Deep freeze causing water main breaks across region

WASHINGTON - Bitter cold temperatures have resulted in water main breaks and pipe bursts across the region.

Several lanes of New Hampshire Avenue, along both the northbound and southbound lanes, were closed early Tuesday morning near Oakview Drive in Montgomery County after a main break flooded the street. The break that was reported around 4:30 a.m. flooded some area homes

In Prince George's County, Rhode Island Avenue near Charles Armentrout Drive was closed after a main break that was reported around 5 a.m.
