DC student shot: Police release image of suspected gunman; teen victim recovering
WASHINGTON - Police have released an image of a suspect they say is connected to the shooting of a 17-year-old girl near a D.C. high school.
The shooting was reported around 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the 200 block of Morgan Street, just blocks away from nearby Dunbar High School in northwest Washington, D.C.
What we know about the victim
The girl, who is a Dunbar student, was shot in the lower back. After she was shot, she was driven to the school for help. She was taken to the hospital with injuries described by police as non-life-threatening.

According to a police report, multiple shell casings were found at the scene and two vehicles were damaged by bullets.
Image of suspect released by police
Police say a vehicle connected to the shooting was last seen traveling eastbound in the 100 block of N Street. Investigators from the Real Time Crime Center located and released an image of a person they describe as a suspect in the case.
In a letter to the school community, Dunbar's interim principal, Trifany White, said support from the DCPS Crisis Response Team and the school's wellness team is available to help students, parents, and staff cope with the incident. "Our thoughts are with our student and their family as they recover," she wrote.
