DC restaurants join forces to 'Dine Out for Houston'

Looking for a way to help the the victims of the devastating floods caused by Hurricane Harvey-- even though you can't be there in person? Local DC area restaurants have come together to give you the chance to do just that tonight just by going out to eat.

Organized by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), DC Dines Out for Houston will raise money to support those impacted by the flooding in Texas. On its website, RAMW says it's an effort to show solidarity with people and small business owners who now face a long road to recovery.

The list of restaurants participating in DC Dines Out for Houston is long. The following restaurants will donate a percentage of all proceeds collected all day long on Thursday, August 31 to a Harvey relief fund or organization.

DC FOOD AND BEVERAGE GIVE TO HARVEY RELIEF: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

The relief efforts won't stop there. On Saturday, September 2, DC's food and beverage community plans to come together again for a city-wide fundraiser supporting the American Red Cross' relief efforts.

Other restaurants and groups are offering additional opportunities to fundraise for the victims. Here are the details:

Black Restaurant Group:
Jeff and Barbara Black, owners of popular area restaurants including Pearl Dive Oyster Palace, Black Jack, Tilt Side Bar, BlackSalt, Black's Bar and Kitchen, Black Market Bistro, Republic and Addie's Restaurant, have agreed to match dollar-for-dollar donations made by patrons at all of their restaurants up to $100,000, now through September 14. If their goal isn't reached, they'll continue the drive. You don't have to visit the restaurants to donate. Click here to make a donation online.

PRG Restaurant Group:
They'll donate a portion of sales collected at Lincoln, Teddy & the Bully Bar, and Declaration on Labor Day weekend, September 2-4, to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey disaster relief.

RareSweets - A portion of sales on August 31 and September 1 will be donated to The American Red Cross and to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund/Greater Houston Community Foundation

One Eight Distilling - $1 from every punch cocktail sold and $5 from every bottle sold on Saturday, September 2 will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey relief fund

Hill Country BBQ Penn Quarter - Join the 'Hurricane Harvey Recovery Fundraiser' with Chuck Rocha on September 1 at 5 pm. All monetary donations will be accepted and all proceeds from the $5 raffle tickets and 50 percent of proceeds from multiple menu items, including beverages, will go directly to the Houston Food Bank and the Texas Diaper Bank

Penn Commons - Enjoy a special cocktail through Sunday, September 3 and sell for $10, $5 from each will be contributed to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Harvey relief

Arroz, G By Mike Isabella, Graffiato, Kapnos, Kapnos Taverna, Kapnos Kouzina, Pepia, Requin & Yona - $1 of every cocktail sold until September 1 will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey relief fund

Taco Bamba Falls Church & Vienna - For every brisket taco sold from September 2-9, a proceed of sales will go directly to Harvey relief efforts

Agua301 - 15 percent of the entire days sales on Sunday, September 3 during the weekly "Give Back Sunday" will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey relief fund

The Daily Dish, A Restaurant & Catering Company - A portion of their special Texas Wine Dinner on Monday, October 9 will be donated to The Red Cross to help the Flood Victims of Hurricane Harvey

The Tryst Trading Company (Tryst, The Diner, Open City, The Coupe, Tryst at the Phillips, Open City at the National Cathedral) - Accepting monetary donations in the form of a donation box that will be donated 100 percent to the Hurricane Harvey Red Cross relief effort.

Himitsu - Will open on September 3 and 4 and donate 100 percent of profits to Houston and Hurricane Harvey relief

Chase the Submarine - Now through September 4, a portion of sales will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey relief fund

Mountain Valley Water - A shipment of two trailer truck loads of water are being sent to aid in the relief efforts of Hurricane Harvey. This shipment includes 1 truck containing pallets of single serve sizes of water and the other containing pallets of non-returnable 4 gallon bottles of water.

Venga - Venga is encouraging all their employees to donate and the company will match their individual contributions over the weekend to Harvey relief
